In Remembrance of 40 Years of HIV & AIDS | World AIDS Day 2022

Founded in 1988, World AIDS Day was the first ever international day for global health. Every year, folks across the globe come together to raise awareness of HIV & AIDS in our communities, support those living with and impacted by HIV, advocate for resources to tackle HIV transmission, combat stigma associated with HIV & AIDS, and, above all, remember those lost to us due to HIV & AIDS.

Thank You for Supporting the 2020 AIDS Walk Northwest!

We wanted to take a moment to say thank to you all for your incredible support of CAP and AIDS Walk Northwest. AIDS Walk Northwest (formerly AIDS Walk Portland) is a cornerstone event for CAP and helps raise awareness for HIV and AIDS as well as critical funds to support CAP and our Community Partners as we fight to end HIV transmission. Thousands of you rallied over the past few months and helped us exceed our fundraising goal; because of your generous support we raised over $178,000 during this year’s event to support healthcare and HIV services for both CAP and our Community Partners!

Registration is Open for AIDS Walk Northwest

CAP is excited to announce that registration for the 2020 AIDS Walk Northwest (previously AIDS Walk Portland) is now open! For 35 years, Cascade AIDS Project has called upon thousands of community members, advocates and activists to step up and take a stand against HIV transmission. We take to the streets of Portland to remind everyone that HIV/AIDS has impacted each and every one of our lives in some way.

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is observed each year on February 7 to “increase HIV education, testing, community involvement, and treatment among black communities”. Coordinated by the Strategic Leadership Council, thousands of organizations and groups across the world organize to address HIV disparities that exist within the Black community nationally and globally. This year’s NBHAAD theme, “Together for Love: Stop HIV Stigma” raises awareness that we all have a role to play in stopping HIV stigma.

CAP Commemorates World AIDS Day With Third Annual Heroes of HIV Luncheon

CAP will commemorate World AIDS Day by honoring the individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to fighting the epidemic in our community at third annual Heroes of HIV luncheon. Taking place at the Sentinel Hotel in downtown Portland on December 1st from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, the event will honor individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to the fight against HIV in our community.

Cascade AIDS Project Raises Over $635,000 At 28th Annual Art Auction Gala

CAP is thrilled to announce another successful evening of art and giving which raised over $635,000 to support vital HIV-related services and a new primary medical care clinic focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals. Held at Montgomery Park more than 1000 people attended the art-focused fundraiser co-chaired by Blair and Eric Sprunk. Mr. Sprunk is the Chief Operating Officer at Nike which has been a long-term supporter of CAP.

Trans Activist Aydian Dowling To Throw Out Opening Pitch At Bat’N Rouge!

Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) will host the fourth annual “Bat ‘n Rouge” softball tournament. The family-friendly tournament—featuring drag queens, music, and general hilarity—will take place 11 AM to 4 PM on July 26th at Erv Lind Stadium in Normandale Park. Bat ‘n Rouge will raise funds to help those impacted by HIV/AIDS.
